Technical cooperation

Project start in February 2022

In a project planned for two years, DAkkS together with other German and Swedish specialist institutions will support the expansion of Namibia’s opportunities to participate in the international trading system. In particular, the project will strengthen the ability of the Namibian Standards Institute (NSI) to act to promote the harmonisation of national standards with European and international standards.

DAkkS with leadership role

A kick-off meeting held in Yerevan in September saw the official launch of a Twinning project between the European Union and the National Accreditation Body of Armenia (ARMNAB). Over the next 18 months and under the leadership of the German accreditation body Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS), ARMNAB will be modernised and reoriented on the basis of international standards and in accordance with the EU regulatory framework.

The Committee on Conformity Assessment of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO/CASCO) asks testing and calibration laboratories accredited in accordance with the standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 as revised in 2018 to participate in a survey

Accreditation cases

Reduced advance payments and greater transparency in fee notices

DAkkS is optimising its billing practices for accreditation services with effect from 1 October 2021. With immediate effect, advance payments are now lower than before. In addition, DAkkS is also adjusting the estimate of fees and disbursements. The changes come into force on 1 October 2021 at the same time as the ordinance on fees as amended by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Revised documents now available

As part of the reorganisation of the documentation of its quality management system, DAkkS has adapted the forms for the documentation of assessments. The revised templates are now available in the document database for assessors on the DAkkS website.

Legal basis

Federal Ministry amends AkkStelleGebV, the German ordinance on fees for accreditation bodies

In the Federal Law Gazette of 25 August 2021, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy published an amendment to the ordinance on fees for accreditation bodies. The ordinance will come into force in two stages on 1 October 2021 and 1 April 2022.

For the protection of all participants

In view of the continuing tense situation with regard to the rate of new infections, DAkkS is adhering to its policy of conducting on-site assessments abroad only in non-risk countries. To protect all those involved, DAkkS is therefore giving precedence to the implementation of remote assessments wherever technically possible.
